Come help build a new Family Med Residency Program!! Trinity Health Mid Atlantic (North region - St. Mary's and Nazareth) is looking for a Program Director over a new Family Medicine Residency program. This role will oversee the development, application and the maintenance of certification of the Family Medicine Residency
in compliance with Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) requirements and the Policies and Procedures of the Sponsoring Institution. Until the Residency program is approved, this position will be 80% Clinical Services and 20% Administrative Services. Time will be spent at St. Mary Clinics in Bensalem, PA and the Administrative time will be spent at Nazareth (Northeast Philadelphia).
Job Description:
During the first year, develop program and ensure completion of application to the standard of ACGME requirement.
Lead and direct the Family Medicine Residency Program, and maintain accountability for all program outcomes.
Develop, oversee and maintain the quality of the Family Medicine didactics and curriculum at all sites.
Provide leadership, recruitment and selection of the Residents, mentoring, teaching and administrative oversight to the residents within the program, as well as to faculty who serve the mission of the residency program.
Obtain DIO review and co-signature on all program applications and forms that ACGME requires for submission to maintain accreditation, such as citations or request for changes in the program that would have significant impact on the program and the institution.
Be familiar with and comply with ACGME and Review Committee policies and procedures as outlined in the ACGME Manual of Policies and Procedures.
Maintain accreditation of the program by the ACGME, and develop collaborative relationship between the program and affiliated institutions such as the sponsoring hospital and other clinical partners.
Direct and oversee the work of the program coordinator to help facilitate ACGME requirements.
Work with faculty to evaluate, support, remediate residents based on the feedback of the Clinical Competency Committee.
Maintain board certification, licensure and appointment requirements as required by ACGME.
Approve local directors at each participating site, monitor the curriculum and resident supervision at each site, as well as evaluate faculty and approve continued participation of faculty.
Ensure compliance with grievance and due process procedures as set forth in the Institutional Requirements.
Provide verification of residency education for all residents, including those who leave the program prior to completion.
Implement policies and procedures consistent with the institutional and program requirements for resident duty hours and the work environment, including moonlighting.
Distribute policies and procedures to residents and faculty, monitor resident duty hours, adjust schedules to mitigate resident fatigue, and if applicable, monitor at home call to mitigate fatigue and excessive service demands.
Once the program is approved, allot 70% of time to program administration, evaluation, teaching, and resident precepting.
Review data on faculty and resident program evaluation and Program Evaluation Committee recommendations to implement program improvement action plans.... More >><< Less
