Position Summary:
Responsible for providing program direction for McLaren Oakland Graduate Medical Education (GME), Undergraduate Medical Education (UME), Continuing Medical Education (CME), and Medical Library.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the McLaren Health Care/Affiliate Vision, Mission, and Values.
Direct the activities of the Medical Education in
developing, promoting, and implementing a comprehensive program of medical education that is responsive to customer needs.
Develop and provide financial oversight for Medical Education and all training programs.
Efficiently organizes, appropriately manages, and directs the Medical Education staff to effectively carry out the duties of the department while providing high quality, cost-effective Medical Education programs.
Develop policies, protocols, and guidelines necessary for the administration and conduct of Medical Education at the institutional and program levels.
Maintains accreditation and quality of all graduate medical education and continuing medical education programs.
Recruit, manage, and evaluate training program leadership, including all program directors, associate/assistant program directors, chief residents, and coordinator staff.
Oversees the selection of residents into the GME programs to ensure high caliber future physicians, and creates an environment that fosters the retention of residency graduates.
Serves as a resource to program directors and coordinators in developing and implementing educational programs, including quality improvement initiatives, for trainees, faculty, and staff.
Problem solve through applicable activities involving the Medical Staff, house staff, employees, Residents/Fellows, and/or other customers of the hospital. Be a contact person for issues/problems for all residencies or fellowships... More >><< Less
