GME Finance and Budget Specialist

The Swedish Graduate Medical Education department is seeking that unique GME specialist who enjoys the niche financial responsibilities that are unique to graduate medical education. With oversight and direction from the GME Director and DIO, the GME Finance and Budget Specialist, will provide a high-level of analytical and procedural financial
support services to the DIO, GMEC, CMS reimbursement team and campus Chief Financial Officer.
The GME Finance and Budget Specialist will participate in the management of GME financial resources and requires a comprehensive and detailed understanding of CMS CAP, PRA, DGME and IME calculations; ensuring the number of residents/fellows scheduled at primary teaching sites matches funding allocations. Negotiates and manages site affiliation agreements with associated payment addendums requesting resident salary and benefit reimbursement or faculty payments.
This position requires a high degree of initiative and independent judgment. The GME Finance and Budget Specialist will maintain and disseminate financial reports to GMEC, which may include complex analysis of financial data gathered and compiled from multiple funding sources. Provides oversight of individual residency program budgets. Is a key member on the GMEC Finance sub-committee.
We are seeking a New Innovations super user who can take the lead in developing a new process for capturing each resident(s)/fellow(s) training site/time distribution data in New Innovations in order to create an accurate and cost effective Intern Resident Information System (IRIS) reporting to CMS.

Bachelor's Degree, Business or Health Administration or equivalent education/experience.
3 years in a graduate medical education (GME) department in either an academic or hospital based residency program.
2 years in residency management software.
