Manager, GME Programs
Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center
This position collaborates with leader colleagues and medical director partners within the Center for Learning and Professional Development - CLPD (Simulation Center, Learning Technology, Continuing Nursing and Medical Education, Graduate Medical Education) to develop and sustain high performing teams through shared resources; systems, processes and people development. This exciting role
leads a skilled and experienced team of program coordinators and is responsible for promoting a positive team culture, empowering decision making and innovation, and the standardization of processes and systems. There is ample opportunity (and an expectation) to engage in continuous process improvement, strategic planning and execution, and to drive and support mission and vision at the departmental level. Responsibilities: A listing of the key responsibilities:
Directs and oversees the day-to-day operations of the GME Program Coordinator team, and assigned staff members.
Recruits, hires, and trains Program Coordinators and facilitates Program Development group with Coordinator Team Leads.
Develops and recommends policies and procedures to facilitate standardization of GME programs to ACGME requirements.
Develops strategic program goals with the GME Program Coordinators to improve program management to meet ACGME program requirements.
Ensures that all GME programs adhere to ACGME submission deadlines, and follow PEC and CCC processes.
Partners with GME leadership to develop procedures to process resident/fellow quality improvement and patient safety projects, evaluations, milestones and …
Works closely with the GME leadership, GME office staff, department leadership across the organization, and GME Program Directors and Coordinators.
Interacts with residents/fellows and teaching faculty to achieve GME goals and objectives.
Collaborates with systems analysts to ensure system components are properly and consistently operationalized.
Analyzes and provides data to GME leadership as needed for ACGME compliance, GMEC, Annual report, program coordinator performance and program compliance.
Additional duties are required or assigned.
BA degree in relevant field, Master’s preferred.
Three (3) years of progressively responsible work experience in an academic, healthcare, or other directly related work setting.
Yellow/Green Belt Certification
Comprehensive knowledge of ACGME Program Requirements and GME’s role in the organization.
Ability to lead by example, maintain a results-oriented approach, and
Ability to build positive relationships and to make oral and written presentations.
Ability to interpret, communicate and utilize data to make decisions and motivate staff to continuously improve practice.
Ability to make decisions in a timely manner, work well under pressure, and meet multiple, competing deadlines.
Ability to assign responsibility for tasks and decisions, set clear objectives and measures, providing ongoing feedback while monitoring results.
