The Program Associate is responsible for the operational management of the accredited Hand Surgery Fellowship and Foot and Ankle Surgery Residency along with coordinating the OB and Surgery rotations for 200 residents, fellows, medical students and advanced practice students. This position requires a high degree of initiative, independent judgement and
a desire for providing great service to others. This position also requires the ability to manage multiple, changing priorities with ease.
The Program Associate will:
•Track, report and ensure compliance with national accreditation standards, as well as with procedures regarding licensing, Institutional GME policies, annual contracts and CMS data and documentation requirements.
•Maintain trainee academic records and track progress towards program graduation and board eligibility.
•Provide support to trainees and act as a liaison between trainees and hospital administration when necessary.
•Maintain resident and faculty information in program databases and manage the evaluative processes of the trainees, program, faculty and rotations.
•Plan departmental annual events including recruitment, orientation, graduation and various other program-related events.
•Serve as the liaison between schools/programs and Regions Hospital to ensure clear, consistent and effective communication regarding rotating trainees.
•Partner with the Surgery and OB Site Directors in the administration of trainee rotations.
