Medical Education Manager
Swedish Medical Center
The Swedish Medical Center Graduate Medical Education department is seeking a Medical Education Manager to be the outward facing representative for the central GME department located at Swedish First Hill in Seattle, WA. This is a 1.0 FTE. Day Shift position.
In this position, the manager should have a thorough
understanding of the ACGME Sponsoring Institution, Common Program and CLER requirements in order to carry out responsibilities that would include planning, organizing, monitoring, leading, implementing and evaluating central GME departmental functions to assure that the accreditation requirements are being met.
A portion of the manager’s time will be working closely with the Podiatric and Dental program directors and coordinators as the Swedish representative for these programs. Therefore, it will be necessary to have an understanding of both the CODA and CPME accreditation requirements.
• Required qualifications for this position include:
• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business, Health Administration, or related area
• At least 3 years of graduate medical education experience, experience can be in an academic or hospital based residency program.
• 2 years of experience in New Innovations Residency software
management, considers oneself to be a super-user.
• 2 years experience with SharePoint, Yammer and computer literate.
• Knowledge of ACGME accreditation requirements for graduate medical education. Understanding of CMS guidelines as they relate to GME
About the First Hill Campus
The 697-bed tertiary-care center on the Swedish/First Hill campus is the flagship of the Swedish health-care system. Swedish/First Hill has one of the most active and advanced birthing programs in Washington state and houses a Level III neonatal intensive-care unit. More surgeries are performed each year at Swedish/First Hill than at any other facility in the region; volumes include more total joint replacements than any other medical center in the state.
The GME department is the Sponsoring Institution for many residency and fellowship programs. We have four ACGME residency programs: General Surgery, two Family Medicine programs and an FM- Rural Training Program for a total of 100 residents. An accredited Podiatric residency program with six residents and an accredited Dental residency program with five residents.
