Emergency Medicine Program Director

Northeast Georgia Medical Center is searching for a program director to develop our highly anticipated Emergency Medicine Residency Program from initial program application through implementation of the program. Northeast Georgia Medical Center is early in the development of graduate medical education programs, with our first two initially accredited programs, internal
medicine and general surgery, starting with PGY-1 residents in July 2019 with plans to grow to over 7 programs and 200+ residents over the next five years.
The Program Director is responsible for providing leadership and oversight of the Emergency Medicine Residency Program to ensure efficient and effective operations consistent with NGMC’s mission, vision, objectives and policies. The program director will devote time and effort daily to the program to ensure continuity of leadership and to fulfill all responsibilities necessary to meet the educational goals of the program. The Program Director oversees and manages the residency program in accordance with the requirements of Northeast Georgia Medical Center and the ACGME Emergency Medicine Review Committee to establish and maintain accreditation. This leader is also responsible for the recruitment, development, and retention of faculty and educational resources to achieve the goals of the program.
The position offers a competitive salary including benefits and moving allowance with administrative time (minimum of 50%) dedicated to program educational and administrative duties.

Current certification by ABEM or AOBEM;
At least 3 years' experience as a core faculty member in an ACGME-accredited emergency medicine residency program;
Demonstrated experience in a graduate medical education leadership role;
Strong leadership skills in administration and team-building as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
ongoing involvement in scholarly activity, including peer-reviewed publications.
