Medical Education Program Coordinator II, GME
Maine Medical Center
Under the direction of the GME Program Manager and the Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Medical Education Program Coordinator II is responsible for coordinating and managing the administrative components of Graduate Medical Education (GME), and other Medical Education initiatives and activities. This individual is expected to partner with Medical Education
stakeholders to ensure smooth and effective administration of all 30O+ MMC Residents and Fellows. This position requires someone who is highly organized with a strong attention to detail and comfortable in a collaborative environment. Part of this role will include researching new and different ways to leverage the system for efficiencies across the GME programs.
Duties to include but not limited to:
•Coordinating institutional orientations
•Overseeing Residents and Fellow onboarding
•Managing the GME electronic records and software
•Ensuring data is kept up to date and accurate
•Staffing committees, including agendas, minutes, scheduling, securing spaces, and catering
•Managing the program budget, including tracking expenses and identifying variances throughout the year
•Other logistical needs for assigned initiatives/activities
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
•Associate’s degree, plus 3-5 years of relevant administrative work, preferably in an education or health care setting or comparable relevant work experience in an administrative position, preferably in an education or health care setting.
•Experience in a customer service oriented role within a
complex, dynamic environment.
•Experience coordinating and facilitating initiatives/activities in a complex environment involving multiple stakeholders.
•Experience collaborating and working effectively as a member of a team.
•Demonstrated ability to problem solve and make independent decisions based on sound judgment and discretion while under pressure.
•Demonstrated high level organizational skills for planning and implementation; project management related experience preferred.
•Demonstrated Ability to efficiently collect, organize and manage details.
•Proficiency in and demonstrated ability to integrate, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and web-based applications for process improvement.
