Southeast Health is searching for a candidate to develop our anticipated Neurology Residency Program from inception through implementation. The Program Director is responsible for creating an educational environment to ensure a quality education for training and development of competent, board-certified Neurology physicians. The Program Director oversees and manages the residency program in accordance with the requirements of Southeast Health's GMEC and the ACGME Neurology Review Committee to establish and maintain accreditation. This leader is also responsible for the recruitment, development, and retention of faculty and educational resources to achieve the goals of the program.

The position offers competitive salary including but not limited to paid vacation, matching retirement, health, dental, and vision insurance options; commencement bonus and relocation allowance; CME allowance, paid licensing fee and malpractice; and protected administrative time (minimum of at least 20%) dedicated to program educational and administrative duties.

Southeast Health’s neurological services include outpatient clinic, neurohospitalists, 3 full time neurosurgeons, and a neuroendovascular neurologist. Southeast Health is home to a 13-bed Neuro ICU as well as a comprehensive stroke center with a neuroendovascular lab which treated 1600+ patients during the last 2 years. In-house radiology coverage is available 24/7.

Additionally, Southeast Health is one of the largest not-for-profit tertiary referral centers in Alabama. The 28-bed Level 2 trauma ED is staffed with 12 EM residency-trained physicians with 59,000 annual visits from 13 counties (600,000 referral base). Available subspecialty coverage includes ortho, neuro, cardiothroacic and vascular surgery. The facility includes 420 licensed beds; 2700+ dedicated employees; and 350 active medical staff and serves over 600,000 people in a 75-mile radius. Patient care offerings include 22 ORs with 2 endovascular suites and open heart, IR and Vas surgery; interventional cardiology, EP and radiology labs, lithotripsy, 3 MRIs (1 a 3-T), 3 CTs including a 64-slice CT and PET scanner; and a 28-bed inpatient psychiatric program and outpatient center with psychiatric hospitalist coverage. Program Director requirements include:
*Current certification by ABEM or AOBEM
*Current Alabama medical license at the time of employment
*At least 3 years' educational and administrative experience acceptable to the Review Committee
*Demonstrated experience in a graduated medical education leadership role,
*Strong leadership skills in administration and team-building as well as strong interpersonal and communication skills, and
