PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES
a. Assists the Director of Education in critical evaluations of the clinical and teaching effectiveness of the IM faculty.
b. Assists with implementation and coordination of the residency training program according to appropriate guidelines such as the RRC and RAP.
c. Ensures adequate physician, resident
and other provider supervision of the inpatient, and consult/outpatient teaching services.
d. Assists in the evaluation of resident and faculty applicants to the Internal Medicine Residency Program.
e. Assists with short and long-term planning for the IM Residency and IM Centers.
f. Attends meetings with Internal Medicine and administrative staff when the Director of Education is unavailable. Directs the Internal Medicine Residency in the absence of the Director of Education.
g. Serves on assigned committees such as curriculum committee.
h. Provides direct care for patients in the assigned Internal Medicine Center according to current standards of care.
i. Provides precepting and evaluation of the performance of residents, nurse practitioners, and assigned students.
j. Participates actively as an attending physician on the inpatient and consult/outpatient services according to call schedules.
k. Participates in noon-time and day-end teaching conferences.
l. Maintains board certification through regular CME activities and board exams.
2. OTHER DUTIES
a. Attends assigned faculty and departmental conferences and meetings.
b. Completes a quality assurance/practice management project each year.... More >><< Less
