To be part of the AMA is to be part of our Mission to promote the art and science of medicine and the betterment of public health. Join the AMA team as an Account Executive in Physician Engagement. As part of the team, you will be responsible for Resident group membership recruiting efforts through sales of the GME Competency Education Program (GCEP) to residency institutions within assigned territory or sub-segment. This position will also coordinate retention efforts with a dedicated Account Manager partner. Work with GCEP platform team to identify existing and emergent needs of both GME staff and residents. Collaborate with Resident subject matter experts within Member Programs to collect and provide insights into potential member benefits for AMA resident members.

Other Responsibilities will include:

• Business Development - Strategically target new business prospects within assigned territory to promote GCEP educational platform. Generate new leads through cold calling various GME directories and lists to identify proper contact for outreach. Contact potential opportunities via email or phone to establish rapport and schedule both online and onsite meetings. Represent GCEP and AMA at conferences, meetings and industry events that provide networking and relationship development opportunities. Create and deliver informative presentations to potential clients effectively. Manage monthly/quarterly pipeline. All activity and outreach to accounts and contacts to be documented and tracked in Salesforce.

• Account Management - Work directly with dedicated Account Manager for all customers within the assigned GCEP territory. Provide background information for successful onboarding of all partners including reason for purchase, priority of leads, key contacts and roles, etc. Clearly set proper expectations for performance of GCEP. Assist with creating value in group scheduling training workshop for staff users.

• Resident Membership Support - Proactively provide support to subject matter experts (SME’s) by serving as the voice of the target audience, assist in identifying existing and emergent needs of the target audience. REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree required.

• 7+ years of B to B selling experience with a proven track record of success.

• Ability to develop and advance sales pipeline; professionally trained or certified in a selling model (SPIN, NEAT, Customer Centric, etc) preferred.

• Knowledge of the medical resident and GME market and experience working with GME Designated Institutional Officers (DIO’s), Residency program administrators and Residency program managers preferred.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills, especially in customer relations along with sales presentation skills.

• Strong interpersonal and team building skills with the ability to lead as well as be a player on a team.

• Excellent organizational and analytical skills.

• Ability to interface effectively and build relationships with people of varying disciplines, backgrounds, and expertise, including senior-level management.

• Must be self-motivated and able to effectively manage time to achieve individual and organizational goals.
• Strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com and Microsoft O365 required.

• Ability to travel at least 20% of the time; this position also requires an in-office presence at AMA headquarters in Chicago.
