JOB DESCRIPTION

The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Graduate medical Education is seeking a Medical Staff Coordinator in Moreno Valley. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the neurosurgery residency program, which includes monitoring/completing all required documentation to meet program accreditation standards. He/she will schedule all clinical rotations, monitor the clinical learning for the residents, submit their respective pay stipends, as well as manage their performance evaluations. Additionally, the selected candidate will assist with developing program budgets and writing policies for the program as new mandates are created.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Collaborates with program director, chairman, and GME in implementing policy and procures in accordance with ACGME, AOA, ABNS, and AOBS guidelines.

Monitors accreditation requirements ensuring all Institutional, Common and Specialty Program and board requirements are met to ensure accreditation of the program.

Completes on a bi-weekly, monthly, semi-annual and annual basis all required documentation to meet program accreditation standards.

Manages the program¿s resident recruitment and selection process.

With the assistance of the program director, develops program budget and enforces policy and procedures associated with maintaining the budget.

Monitors the clinical learning and working environment for the residents and submits all payroll for residents.

Manages confidential resident performance evaluations, as well as evaluations for the faculty and program.

With the program director, develops program and rotation goals and objectives, interacts with participating sites ensuring Letters of Agreement are current and meeting compliance requirements.

Develops agendas for Residency/Program review committee and Clinical Competency Committee.

Assists the program/residents with registration for outside rotations, travel arrangements for mandatory off-site conferences and speaking engagements with program budget maintained.

RECRUITING GUIDELINES

Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a Certificate of Proficiency issued by the California State Board of Education, or attainment of a satisfactory score on a G.E.D. test.

Experience: Three years of increasingly responsible, broad, and varied clerical experience, at least one year of which includes medical office experience in an acute care hospital or healthcare agency. Experience with a Credentialing Database software program strongly preferred.

Highly Desired: Experience coordinating credentialing activities for medical students or resident physicians. Knowledge of compliance requirements with regulatory and accrediting agencies such as the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). Bachelor's degree with major coursework in business/public administration or related field.
