Doctorate Degree (MD or DO).
Current certification with the American Board of Family Medicine and enrollment in Maintenance of Certification.
Must possess or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Florida.
Must possess or be eligible to obtain a federal DEA certificate.
Meet all requirements for active medical
staff privileges at Winter Haven Hospital.
Active involvement in the care of patients and, prior to assuming this position, a minimum of five years full-time professional activity in family medicine as well as two years as a core faculty member in an ACGME-or AOA-accredited family medicine residency program.
Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment.
Requisite specialty expertise and documented educational and administrative experience acceptable to the ACGME Family Medicine Review Committee.
Demonstrated excellence in an overall mix of skills including clinical care, clinical teaching, and scholarly activity that advance clinical medicine and institutional service.
Demonstrated understanding of the academic process.
Demonstrated leadership in curriculum development, administration, evaluation methodology, teaching and mentoring residents.
Collegial ability to engage local medical community and physicians for enhancement of the residency program. Effective consensus builder and team leader.
Understands operations, working and reporting in a complex, matrix organization. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Superior problem-solving and decision-making skills. Broad knowledge of regulatory issues, and legal and risk management issues.

Preferred
Preferably having participated in clinical studies and scholarly activities that have led to publications in peer-reviewed journals and/or other presentations.
