About the Role:
The Director of Engagement will play a crucial role in the management and retention of the AAMC’s ERAS relationships with specialty societies, residency and fellowship programs, medical schools, and students. You will focus on four key areas: account planning, relationship cultivation, renewal performance, and coordination with product
and delivery teams.
How will you make an impact?
Client Retention and Relationship Cultivation:
- Lead client retention and engagement strategy through in-depth portfolio knowledge and comprehensive account planning.
- Develop strategic, value-driven relationships with client executives and key decision-makers, representing the ERAS Program at meetings, institutions, and events.
- Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to showcase our capabilities and value proposition.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of ERAS products, ensuring services align with each client’s unique needs.
- Monitor and communicate client feedback and market needs to relevant AAMC teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure business development initiatives are supported and aligned.
- Act as a thought partner to client experts, developing effective strategies for ERAS and AAMC services.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
Team Management:
- Hire and develop a team of 1-2 Account Managers or Specialists.
- Oversee performance management, providing coaching and navigating difficult conversations.
- Mentor team members, coordinate cross-functional initiatives, and participate in leadership meetings.
Strategy Execution:
- Assist in executing the ERAS strategic plan in coordination with the leadership team.
- Lead segmentation and account management activities, staying informed of trends impacting the application cycle and Graduate Medical Education.
- Provide guidance to the ERAS Product Team on priorities and enhancements.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or related field; MBA preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in business development, sales, or related field.
- Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to identify opportunities, develop actionable plans, and execute effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex ideas and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience leading cross-functional teams and driving results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think creatively, problem-solve, and adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate complex negotiations and close deals.
Remote Work Eligibility:
This position is eligible for remote work in the contiguous US
Compensation Grade Range and Mid-Point:
Grade Range:$124,500.00 - $231,300.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$177,900.00
The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.
If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
