Serve as the divisional Administrative Coordinator responsible for supporting the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy, and Sleep Medicine’s (PCCM) academic mission and communications efforts.
This position assists with faculty and fellow professional development by collating accomplishments, supporting the PCCM Division’s academic mission/sub-specialty fellowships, and coordinating the annual South Carolina
Thoracic Society CME conference.
The position also is tasked with developing, writing, and editing content for various communications channels such as email newsletters and social media platforms. Please note that the MUSC Enterprise has strict rules and regulations for managing communications activities; this position will be required to adhere to specific policies and procedures set forth by the MUSC Office of Communications and Marketing and coordinate closely with the Department of Medicine’s Communications Manager and other communications professionals across the enterprise. In many cases, communication channels such as websites and social media platforms are managed by offices and departments outside of the PCCM and/or Department of Medicine; this person will be expected to work with or through those entities to achieve the desired result.
The person holding this position will be integrated into the division’s core administrative team, but also must operate with a substantial amount of autonomy and be willing to adapt to a regularly changing environment that can at times require assistance that is outside their routine responsibilities. Customer service and effective communication are important requirements as this position engages with a wide range of individuals both internally and externally. Success will be measured on the impact this individual has on the division’s overall communications strategy and education activities, as well as the customer service they provide.
The employee will report directly to the Division’s Fellowship, Training, and Education Manager, but has a matrix reporting structure with the Division Administrator, Division Director, Division’s Fellowship Program Directors, and the Department of Medicine’s Communication Manager.
