The University of Tennessee Health Science Center invites applications and nominations for the position of Assistant Dean of Undergraduate Medical Education, College of Medicine-Chattanooga affiliated with Erlanger Health System, in Chattanooga, TN.
The Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) in Chattanooga will provide leadership for the ongoing development, implementation,
and evaluation of the school's undergraduate medical education program and will continue the tradition of collaborative scholarship and innovative educational excellence by assuring:
• primary responsibility for all UME activities on the UTHCS-COM-C campus.
• comparable educational opportunities across all statewide campuses where possible.
• compliance with the LCME requirements in coordination with UTHSC-COM-Memphis principals.
• fostering a supportive culture of educational excellence.
• preparation of the medical school graduates for clinical practice and medical scholarship (e.g. meet individually for educational portfolio development, career advising and development of electives not available at UTHSC-COM-C).
• completion of all Medical School Performance Evaluation Letters (Dean’s Letters) and assisting assigned students with ERAS application requirements
• serving as Course Director for the required M4 Capstone courses
• interprofessional education and training for all UME students.
• design, development and ongoing coordination of the Clinical and Scholarly Immersion Experiences for UTHSC-COM M1 (rising M2) students
• training, development and mentorship of UTHSC-COM-C specialty-specific faculty advisors
