The Program Manager II will have administrative oversight of all aspects of the Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine Residency program (84 residents) and our fellowships (currently 7 fellowships) at the University of Alabama, Birmingham Alabama. In conjunction with the Associate Director Education and Vice Chair Education, manage, assist, and advise regarding the oversight of medical student, resident, fellowship education and training programs, and continuing medical education, along with faculty development related to education and accreditation requirements. The Program Manager II will serve as an educational resource to trainees, staff, and faculty; actively participate in strategic planning efforts; develop short and long-range planning, with responsibility for achieving program objectives; and have responsibility for drafting accreditation reports. The incumbent will be responsible for event planning, such as graduation and new resident orientation. Other responsibilities include providing educational, management, and administrative activities to support undergraduate medical education, graduate medical education, and continuing medical education, as well as ensuring compliance with all current and new requirements of mandatory national regulatory bodies [i.e, Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), American Board of Anesthesia (ABA), and Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)]....  More >><< Less

The role requires demonstrated staff management and team development skills* and will require working closely with residency and fellowship program directors, internal and external faculty, institutional leadership, representatives of national governing bodies, medical students, residents, fellows, and staff.
