Program Director who will enhance the organization's Family Medicine Residency Program with an unyielding commitment to medical education.
Located in Middletown, New York, GHMC is part of Garnet Health, formerly known as Greater Hudson Valley Health System, a New York State, not-for-profit health system. The hospital sits on 61 acres and boasts seven floors of innovative technology and provides 383 beds, employs over 2,400 healthcare professionals, provides privileges to more than 600 physicians and accounts for roughly $442 million in annual revenues. In addition to the main hospital, there are also several outpatient ambulatory services, including diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. GHMC's major clinical lines of service are care in orthopedics, emergency medicine, oncology, surgery, and maternity.
Reporting into the GHMC Designated Institutional Official (DIO), the Program Director will have general oversight and executive managerial responsibility for the Department of Family Medicine educational programs. The Program Director will work in concert with senior leadership within the Department of Family Medicine and graduate medical education to foster an environment that values and supports educational programs and work to build and strengthen the Family Medicine Residency program for the system.
The Program Director will be an experienced medical educator in family medicine with a track record of building educational programs for family medicine residents. They will be skilled at building programs that attract best-in-class medical students who are prepared for an immersive training in a collegial atmosphere. In compliance with the ACGME, the Program Director will set standards for the residency program and medical education and hold physicians and residents accountable for their respective metrics and goals related to patient care and education.
The Program Director will have substantial impact on family medicine education at one of the largest healthcare providers in the tri-county area. In addition, they will work closely with colleagues integrating the program with the Garnet Health Doctors, as well as the local regional community medical groups, which will create further educational opportunities for physicians and residents to engage in scholarly work....
