In partnership and under the direction of the Chief Academic Officer and Executive Director – Simulation Center will provide oversight and technical support for all simulation operations, including preparation, maintenance and repair of computerize manikins (software and hardware), task trainers and related multimedia peripherals. The incumbent will also serve as a simulator operator by programming, testing, and running scenarios with faculty instructors, assuring that the facility and equipment are set up for teaching sessions.

*Serve as a simulator operator by programming, testing, and running scenarios with faculty and other instructors
*Set-up and “tear down” equipment for education sessions
*Provide technical support for computer-based multimedia systems and their components, including digital cameras, video cameras, monitors, LCD projectors and all other equipment
*Conduct routine equipment maintenance, inventory updates and equipment purchases
*Install software and hardware upgrades and maintain functionality of manikin components as directed by manufacture support
*Supervise preventative maintenance of equipment according to manufacturer’s recommendations
*Collaborate with manufactures or vendors to correct equipment deficiencies and maintain system in order to minimize downtime
*Understand the use and operation of different simulation technologies ranging from anatomic models, low and high definition task trainers, screen-based simulation, full-body simulators and virtual reality surgical simulators
*Instruct faculty and other instructors on the operational aspects of the simulation center
*Oversee and implement technology for clinical skills teaching and research in the simulation center
*Maintain and supervise education session calendar to maximize use of center
*Collaborate with faculty and instructors to ensure efficient use of simulation center
*Provide oversight and technical assistance to the faculty and instructors utilizing the simulation center
* Identifies revenue enhancement and cost containment initiatives and in conjunction with the hospitals prepares the operating and capital budgets for simulation center cost centers
*Manages fiscal and human resources for the simulation center
*Determines resources required to meet goals and objectives
*Provide supervisory oversight to all participants in the simulation center
*Identify financial support needed to maintain the simulation center and its programs according to national accrediting body requirements and standards
*Creates/Streamlines efficient pathways for utilization by faculty and instructors
*Assists with policy development
*Maintain documents relative to the simulation center and accreditation

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
•One-year experience in a healthcare, technology, engineering or related field

Preferred Qualifications:
•Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
•Two-years’ experience in a healthcare, technology, engineering or related field
•Experience in patient simulation services, technologies and applications
•Experience in audio/video equipment and software for recording, duplication, mixing and editing
•Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) and/or Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)certification

Language Skills:
•Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
•Excellent presentation skills

Skills:
•Ability to effectively interact and communicate on professional level
•Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to simulator functions
•Proficiency in MS software applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Internet, and database use
•Ability to express technical information clearly and simply to non-technical persons

•Ability to assess, troubleshoot and fix equipment failures in a timely fashion
