Job Summary:
The Internal Medicine Residency Program is seeking an academically oriented, board-certified Internal Medicine Physician to join as core faculty. Faculty positions combine clinical experiences in teaching, direct care, and consulting services with dedicated time for faculty development and pursuit of academic interests. Administrative duties are 10% of the position and include resident interviews, faculty development, meetings, the resident mentorship program, academic lectures, and participation in scholarly activity. The other 90% is spent on inpatient clinical rotations and supervising residents in the outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include inpatient care, outpatient care, and supervision and teaching of medical students and residents. Clinical research opportunities are available.

Job Description:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Clinical Work
• Inpatient rounding on inpatient teaching services.
• Supervising residents in the outpatient resident GME clinic.
• Complete admission history and physical.
• Coordinate individual inpatient care.
• Coordinate individual outpatient care.
• Complete and document health assessments in progress notes.
• Rounds with resident teams.
• Supervision of residents.
• Manage acute and chronic illnesses, including cardiac, respiratory, GI, infectious, and skin issues.
• Demonstrate a commitment to equitable patient care.
Administrative work
• Conduct resident interviews.
• Serve on the program evaluation committee and the clinical competency committee.
• Participate in the Mentorship Program.
• Create and give academic lectures.
• Participate in scholarly activities.
• Participate in one hospital committee.

Additional Job Description:
Education, Experience and Qualifications

Required:
• MD/DO
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred:
• Dedication toward furthering the field of hospital medicine through their scholarly and teaching experiences.
• Additional year of training in advanced general internal medicine (chief resident equivalent) or significant inpatient practice experience.

Licenses and/or Certifications

Required:
• Board Certification: ABIM or AOBIM

Preferred:
• American Heart ACLS/BLS
