• Advanced degree, preferably MD, PhD, or equivalent.
• Collaborative nature, knowledge, and skills that make him or her an effective catalyst in synthesizing the efforts of both institutions and individuals toward achievement of SEMCME goals.
• Excellent communicator, coordinator, diplomat, and administrator.
• Knowledge of medical education, medical practice
behavior, and health policy and regulation.
• Technical writing, policy development, and planning skills.
• Significant experience with regional or national graduate medical education and faculty development.
• Experience with and knowledge of ACGME guidelines required.
• Experience with SEMCME or SEMCME member institutions of benefit but not required.
