Qualified Candidates will demonstrate leadership experience in graduate medical education:
• Must be Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM)
• Current licensed in Texas or eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Texas
• Current or eligible for appropriate medical staff appointment
•
Have at least five years of participation as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited internal medicine residency program and at least three years of graduate medical education administrative experience prior to appointment.
• Have strong administrative and team building skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• A track record of recent scholarly activity, within the past five years, such as peer reviewed funding, publication of original research or review articles in peer-reviewed journals, chapters in textbooks, publication or presentation of case reports or clinical series at scientific society meetings, or participation in national committees or educational organizations
• Experience in building and developing new GME programs would be advantageous in addition to experience gained in GME management of established programs
• Demonstrated willingness to work collaboratively with multiple groups in building a new GME program including hospital administration, nursing, physician colleagues, and GME staff including the DIO.... More >><< Less
