Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC) is recruiting for an ARMC Associate Medical Director/Designated Institutional Official (DIO) - Contract, who will provide oversight and Administration of the Graduate Medical Education (GME) department at the medical center. This position directs accreditation and regulatory activities and serves as a consultant for GME program staff directing and managing program review process, regularly assessing the
quality of the program, the performance of the residents, program improvement, overseeing Department of Medical Education budget and serving as the liaison with ACGME and related organizations to ensure readiness for all institutional reviews.
In addition, the position will provide support to primary care practice teams using the patient- centered model of care such as Patient Centered Medical Home (PCMH), Home Health (HH) and Behavioral Health Integration Initiatives (BHII); work with teams to develop education initiatives; support and implement new Quality Improvement (QI) services; research, inform and guide Quality Control (QC) teams; understand, utilize and teach the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSAs) model; serve as a physician champion for electronic health initiatives; ensure medical students, residents and program directors are aware and embrace ARMC's pillars, County policies, procedures and employment rules; work in collaboration with the ARMC Medical Director and share Administrative Call duties with the Administrative Team, serve as a member of the ARMC Institutional Review Board (IRB) and participate in Root Cause Analysis (RCA).

The hospital houses a regional burn center serving four counties (San Bernardino, Riverside, Mono and Inyo), a primary stroke center, a level II trauma center and a behavioral health center located on our Colton campus. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal background for this position will consist of a valid Physician’s and Surgeon’s License issued by the State of California without restrictions and in good standing and three years of senior physician or healthcare management leader in an academic medical center or complex teaching hospital which included oversight of an ACGME education program and experience in a leadership role for a medical staff organization or hospital administrative team.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and have clear knowledge of graduate medical education and current issues on Health Care Reform. Additionally, the candidate will establish and maintain positive rapport with policy makers, hospital management, staff, physicians and the public.
